When we moved to our new school, one of the first things other parents started asking me about was whether the kids wanted to be in the school's V-Show. AJ said no way, Julia said she felt shy but maybe next year. David said "A talent show? On stage in front of everyone? Sign me up!" That boy was made for the stage. He and his second grade buddies performed "See My Tattoos Glow," an original song written to the tune of the Beach Boys Little GTO, which of course, none of them had ever heard of. They even had fake tattoo sleeves for their costumes. David's favorite part was when they sang "where the sun don't shine" and got to turn around and wiggle their rear ends at the audience. Because you know, second grade boy humor. He fit right in.
