Julia lost her first tooth! It was hanging by a thread for weeks, long after I thought it defied the laws of physics for it to remain in her mouth anymore. She did not want anyone to go near it and was not interested in having anyone tell her how to wiggle it to get it out, thank you very much. You could see the permanent tooth already coming in behind it, creating a temporary double row of teeth like a shark. Hello, braces someday.
The stubborn little tooth finally popped out in Sunday School when she was dancing and singing to a song. She proudly pounced on me as soon as I walked in the classroom door to pick her up, showing me the wad of paper towels her tooth was swaddled in. "I was dancing and--POP!--it just came right out!" Easy as that.
