Julia: Mama, why don't I have a sister? AJ and David each have a brother and sometimes they just want to do things together and won't let me play. You play with me, but you are at work a lot and I don't have anyone to play with. Why don't I have a sister? Waaah!
Me: That's what girl cousins are for!
Julia has found her people. She is completely over the moon about her girl cousins. The cousins came for a visit this summer and Julia reveled in every minute of it. She loved to play pretend and do daredevil stunts with her cousins in the driveway. When her big cousin, Violet, fell in love with a pair of fashion glasses, Julia was thrilled to get a matching pair. And when they left, she moped and cried for days. It's a great reason for me to get another visit on the calendar soon.
